Timecode

Three Deity TC-1 timecode boxes and a Deity digital timecode slate keep every camera and sound source in the ACOCA Media kit running on exactly the same clock.

What it means for your shoot

A faster, cheaper edit. When two or three cameras and separate sound all share the same timecode, an editor can line everything up in moments instead of matching clips by hand. On a multi-camera interview, a conference or a long documentary day, that saves real time and money in post.

How it works

At the start of the day one TC-1 is set as the master clock and the others are synced to it. A TC-1 then sits on each camera and feeds it the same running time. The boxes hold that time accurately for the whole day, so cameras can be switched off, moved and restarted without drifting apart.

One system, one app

Because the timecode and the wireless microphones are both Deity, they work as one system. Everything is set up and monitored from Deity's Sidus Audio app on a phone: we can check that every box is running, see battery levels and keep the whole kit in sync without walking from camera to camera. The Theos wireless system sits inside the same setup, so sound and pictures arrive in the edit already matched.

The digital slate

The slate shows the running timecode on a large, bright display. It is synced to the same clock and held up at the start of each take, giving the editor a visual check and keeping takes organised on longer shoots.
